Designed in 2000 by James A. Kinsella, Jr. with artwork by Joseph J. Ianelli Advertising Art & Design of Staten Island, our logo features a young boy and his dog gathered under a large umbrella during a rainstorm. The black & white vintage style drawing was inspired by the image of Cosette, the waif, from the Broadway play Les Miserables. The symbolism of the boy & dog denotes a sense of family, community, and friendship.
The umbrella is symbolic of offering protection, shelter, comfort and security to the family & friends who gather under its canopy to escape the storm. Appearing below the Richmond Funeral Home name are the words "Your Caring Neighbor in Stormy Times" which best describes our role as both funeral service professionals and members of the Staten Island community. Inspired by this symbol, Richmond Funeral Home endeavors to make a difficult time a little easier for all families we serve.
